The area is surrounded by an 8-meter-high wall forming a perfect square, 4 km long on each side, featuring 54 gods and demons holding the sacred Naga serpent. At the heart of the city lies the Bayon Temple with its 54 towers, representing the 54 provinces of the Khmer Empire. Continue to the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King, followed by visits to the 11th-century temples of Baphuon and Phimeanakas. Then, continue to Koh Ker, the former capital of the Khmer Empire, known as Lingapura (City of Lingas) or Chok Gargyar (City of Glory).
