Jaffna Sri Lanka

The lavest capital of northern Sri Lanka abandons its long lethargy to consolidate its status as one of the most fascinating destinations in ancient Ceylon. Known as the "City of Harps", Jaffna cites all the nuances of Tamil culture, influenced especially by South India. A melting pot of cultures envelops the city of Jaffna: from the lavish Jaffna Fort erected by the Portuguese and subsequently restored by the Dutch, to icons such as the Kandaswamy Kovil, one of the holiest Hindu temples in all of Sri Lanka. Jaffna is costumbrism and reinvention, starting over. The city currently has a time of reconstruction that can be seen in its colorful markets or urban art in its cultural neighborhoods, as well as a tourism sector whose ultimate goal is always the island of Delft. A microcosm of fishing villages, eroded temples, wild horses and remote beaches reachable from the city of Jaffna itself.
