Weligama Sri Lanka

Just 6 kilometres from the lively Mirissa area on Sri Lanka's southern coast, the village of Weligama and its lavosa bay, a paradise for surfing and relaxation, unfolds. The bay itself encompasses different areas of interest, including Trapobane beach, famous for the presence of an ancient islite with unobstructed access when the tide rises. Mecca of ancient cultures and writers, today Trapobane hosts a discreet hotel camouflaged among a vegetation and trees in which the first fishermen of the morning face each other. In addition to its beaches, Weligama invites you to discover other of its secrets, among them the archaeological site of Kushtarajagala, where a statue of Natha Bodhisatta (aspiring to be Buddha) wears; or the experience of spotting whales in Sri Lanka, especially at the time between November and April.
