The pearl archipelago has crystal-clear, turquoise waters and many islands, most of which are completely secluded, where you can swim, snorkel and, if you're lucky, spot other animals such as manta rays, sea turtles and even whale sharks, and of course lots of colourful tropical reef fish! In the months from July to October you even have the opportunity to watch whales!
Day 1: Panama City - Sonny Island
Early in the morning, a driver will pick you up from your city hotel and take you to the harbour. An approx. 2-hour trip on a catamaran will take you to the pearl island ‘Sonny Island’, which lies in the Pacific Ocean. As you leave the harbour in Panama City, enjoy the view of the fascinating skyline and the many large ships waiting to sail through the Panama Canal. In the Pearl Archipelago there are crystal clear, turquoise waters and many islands, most of them quite secluded, where you can swim, snorkel and, if you are lucky, spot other animals such as manta rays, sea turtles and even whale sharks, and of course lots of colourful tropical reef fish! On arrival, you can enjoy the beautiful and secluded Sonny Island to the full. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the white sandy beach over the next few days.
Day 2: Sonny Island - boat excursion (B)
This morning, a 3-4 hour boat trip with a local boatman awaits you. Discover more pearl islands, secluded beaches and the spectacular underwater world while snorkelling!In the months of July - October each year, you have a 95% chance of seeing whales here off Contadora! Panama is also a unique whale-watching destination. The Panamanian waters are home to over 30 species of whales and dolphins. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 3: Sonny Island (B)
Day at leisure. Spend the day swimming and relaxing on the white sandy beach or in the clear water. You have the option of booking further boat tours (not included). In the evening, enjoy a marvellous sunset.
Day 4: Sonny Island - Panama City (B)
Morning at leisure, 10:00 a.m. check-out. In the afternoon, take the ferry (catamaran) to the Causeway Amador in Panama City in just under 2 hours. On arrival, transfer to the city hotel.
