About the destination: Effortlessly marrying the attractions of beach and sun with centuries of history and culture, Pula is an excellent holiday choice. Once the Austro-Hungarian Empire’s chief naval base, Pula is an engaging combination of working port and brash Riviera town that has managed to retain a friendly small-town appeal. The highlight of the city is definitely the remarkably well-preserved Roman amphitheatre. It is the sixth largest amphitheatre in the world and was constructed in the first century BC. The amphitheatre itself is spectacular and it present the perfect backdrop for plenty of pictures. The Forum is the main square in the centre of the city, where the Temple of Augustus and the Town Hall are located, in addition to some of Pula's more famous cafés. The Forum is the perfect place to start or to end exploring Pula or for the first morning coffee or for the last drink in the hot summer nights. The Triumphal arch of Sergii is another reminder of the Roman settlement. This majestic arch was built in 27 BC to commemorate 3 members of the Sergii family who held important official duties in Pula. Walking along the short and narrow streets of the old town is a good opportunity to see the succession of styles and exterior influences in the city. There's a lot to see in Pula. It's not all about Roman remains and historic monuments. Pula today is a lively busy city that smoothly combines past and present.

About the destination: Today, Rabac is a well-known tourist resort. By the middle of the 19th century, it was a small fishermen village with hardly ten houses. Due to the beautiful bay and splendid, tame surroundings, it soon attracted first visitors. In 1876, Richard Francis Burton, an English writer and a passionate traveler, was among the first tourists who stayed in Rabac. Having seen Rabac and other places on the Istrian coast, he wrote a book of the same title 'The Istrian coast', describing, among other things, the beauties and charm of Rabac.

About the destination: Opatija is a town in western Croatia, just southwest of Rijeka on the Adriatic coast. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • The Anglina Park. It is the building that marked the beginning of the tourist epoch in this town. • The Park of Sv. Jakov. It is a horticultural monument and is dividen into 60 fields and about 159 plants species grow there. • The fountain (Helios and Selena). About the destination: Krk is a Croatian island in the northern Adriatic Sea, located near Rijeka in the Bay of Kvarner and part of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. For many years, Krk has been thought to be the largest Adriatic island, although recent measurements now give the neighboring island of Cres an equal surface area; it is the most populous Adriatic island, with numerous towns and villages. On the island Krk there are several dozen marked tourist paths which lead through the woods and by the sea shore. There are printed guides available at any tourist office. The underwater world around the island of Krk is very interesting, and there are several local and international diving clubs. In the woods, lovers of nature and hunting can come across the fox, roe-buck, wild cat and marten while there are also some birds like the snipe, wild duck, griffon vulture and several other types.

About the destination: Pag is like something you’d find in a 1950s Italian film, perfect for a broody black-and-white Antonioni set – it’s barren, rocky, and sepia coloured, with vast empty landscapes. The Adriatic is a steely blue around it and, when the sky is stormy, the island is the most dramatic-looking place in the whole of Croatia. Its karstic rock forms a moonscape defined by two mountain ridges, patches of shrubs and a dozen or so villages and hamlets. Nowadays it’s connected to the mainland by a bridge – but in terms of culture it’s very independent and distinct. Islanders farm the miserly soil and produce some excellent wine. Tough local sheep graze on herbs and salty grasses, lending their meat and milk a distinctive flavour and producing paški sir (Pag cheese). Intricate Pag lace is famed and framed on many a Croat’s wall. Pag is now an unlikely clubbing mecca with Zrće Beach a summer nightlife hot spot.

About the destination: Zadar is a city in Croatia on the Adriatic Sea. It is the fifth largest Croatian city and is the centre of modern Croatia's Zadar county and the wider northern Dalmatian region. Zadar is located opposite the islands of Ugljan and Pašman, from which it is separated by the narrow Zadar Strait. Though all its destructions after WWII, Zadar has kept a rich heritage of world importance, visible in every step. The Roman Forum from the 1st century is a common place for locals to stroll, sit down amongst the ruins and enjoy a nice summer day. St. Donatus Church from the 9th century is one of the best preserved pre-Romanesque buildings in the world and the trademark of the city. The reconstructed Romanesque St. Grisigono Church from the 12th century is one of the most remarkable examples of the combination of different monuments in one. The church was built upon the ruins of an older one, and rebuilt after being bombed in WW2, in combination with a destroyed Benedictine convent in its back. The Romanesque St. Anastasia's Cathedral from the 13th century is very impressive. The tower can be climbed; from its top you have a beautiful view over the city of Zadar and its neighbouring islands. The Sea Organ is a favourite for locals and tourists alike. This man-made organ on Zadar's Riva works with the motion of the waves and 35 pipes to create a musical soundscape. The Sea Organ is the work of Croatian architect Nikola Bašić, who also created the nearby Greeting to The Sun. The city is known for its artists and galleries. There are around a dozen major galleries, and many smaller stores along the side streets. It has a major street for everyday upscale shopping for the locals, and even some tourists with a passion to buy. It is called Spire Brusine and runs through the middle of the old town. Zadar’s sunsets are legendary too, making it the perfect place to unwind for romantics, young and old.

About the destination: Šibenik is a historic town in Croatia, located in central Dalmatia where the river Krka flows into the Adriatic Sea. Šibenik is a political, educational, transport, industrial and tourist center of Šibenik–Knin County. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • St James' cathedral. It is the main sight. It is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. It has a beautiful baptistery worth seeing it, and the curiosity is it has been built with stone only, without any kind of binder. • Bunari. About the destination: Korčula is an island in the Adriatic Sea, in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County of Croatia. The island is the second most populous Adriatic island after Krk. There are a bevy of activities to engage in Korčula. The beaches on Korčula offer gorgeous views of the karstic coastal ranges. One can see the nearby coastal village of Orebić as well. There are two sandy beaches on Korčula, just to the east of the village of Lumbarda, one on the north coast and one on the south coast at the narrowest point on the island. The Korkyra Baroque Festival is a new annual international event. The festival will showcase a selection of the world's leading ensembles and soloists specialized in Baroque music. Twelve concerts will be held over ten days along with a series of supporting events focusing on Baroque music. Along with the festival's high artistic credentials the event will also promote the richness of Korčula's cultural monuments and the whole town as a unique architectural treasure. Korčula offers a few activities for those seeking a bit more action. In addition to two nightclubs, tourists can take part in the old island tradition of the Sword Dance, where actors stage a historical battle with eloquent choreography. Additionally, local shops offer bike rentals if you choose to explore the island proper.

About the destination: George Bernard Shaw called Dubrovnik “the pearl of the Adriatic, a paradise on earth”, and, indeed, it may be one of the most beautiful cities you’ll ever see. Largely built and long inhabited by Venetians, Dubrovnik possesses a stately charm and striking architectural unity that draw thousands of visitors every summer. Founded in 7th century, Dubrovnik stood amid a great forest of oak trees, from which it took its name. Take a walk atop the old city walls for vistas of the old town and the surrounding coast. Just before exiting the old town through the western gate, turn right to visit the Franciscan Monastery and peaceful cloisters. Just inside the entrance is the oldest European pharmacy, founded in 1371. In the northern corner of the old city is the Dominican Cloister and Museum, with a polyptych by Titian. The impressive Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands in the centre of Poljana Marin Držić and its treasury can be visited; look for the work by Raphael. Dubrovnik has warm, crystalline waters; don’t just admire it from a distance and take a dive. The intrepid can dive and sunbathe along the rocks or swim around the walls of the city while others gawk above. Dubrovnik’s impressive battlements gleam in the early morning light, but by early afternoon, the sea’s clear blue waters beckon you away from the city and its tourist din. If you can stand the crunch, you, too, may find a piece of heaven.
