About the destination: The two neighboring resorts Beruwela and Bentota on the southwest coast form the center of tourism on Sri Lanka and are separated from each other by Bentota River. This is a kind of lagoon in the vicinity of the coast, where you can find the best conditions for windsurfing and sailing. In this region the most beautiful beaches of the island begin. The coast is a protective coral reef, so that the bathing is also possible with stronger sea. The local life can be seen on the fish market in the small town of Aluthgama, which is located between the two places. The railway line to the south runs close to the coast line, in some hotels can be heard in time train tracks. The best travel time for the west coast is from November to April. Arrival by land transfer from Colombo (Bandaranaike airport).
