Day 1: Naromoru gate – Met. Station (L, D)
Depart Nairobi at 08:00 and drive to the Mount Kenya region - 3 hours drive to Naromoru where you will meet the guide. the guide for briefing and sorting of equipment. Then proceed to Naromoru park gate on the Naromoru route where you will start the trek. The guide will set a leisurely pace for a relaxing trek up the mountain. The to acclimatise and enjoy the fascinating vegetation zones of an equatorial mountain and the rich animal and bird life. A packed lunch will be provided on the way. The trek takes 3 hours to reach the Met station, where we spend the night in the mountain log cabins.A good day for acclimatisation as we will be sleeping at an altitude of 3,050m. A short hike in the to gain and lose altitude.
Day 2: Meeting. Station - Teleki Lodge. (B, L, D)
After breakfast, hike up past the forest line through the tussock-covered moorland and heather zone to the ridge of the Teleki Valley. Teleki Valley to the crest of the ridge from where you can see the main peaks. A packed lunch will be provided on the way. Continue for 2 hours to reach the Teleki hut for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Teleki Lodge - Pt. Lenana, 4985m - Met. Station (B, L, D)
A pre-dawn start at 0400 is made to ensure a successful summit bid and in time for a clear view of the majestic scenery after sunrise. Majestic scenery after sunrise. With the help of the guide, climb to the third highest peak (Point Lenana -4985m, 4- 5 hours) at the summit on a clear day you can see the Uhuru Peak of Kilimanjaro - a few minutes to celebrate and take photos. Descend through the Austrian to Teleki Lodge for breakfast and rest.In the afternoon, walk down through the moorland for 5 hours to Met. Station in the late afternoon.. A packed lunch will be served en route to camp. Arrive at camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Meeting. Station - Naromoru Park Gate - Naromoru. (B)
After breakfast, leave Met. Station and hike through the forest to Naromoru Park Gate where your vehicle will be waiting.
