Inselhopping Dodekanes: Rhodos, Symi & Kos

About the destination: Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese islands in terms of land area and also the island group's historical capital. Administratively the island forms a separate municipality within the Rhodes regional unit, which is part of the South Aegean region. The principal town of the island and seat of the municipality is Rhodes. It is located northeast of Crete, southeast of Athens and just off the Anatolian coast of Turkey. Rhodes' nickname is The Island of the Knights. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • Asklipio Inland from Kiotari. In the little church there are fascinating displays, honoring the continuity of the cult of healing from ancient times to a modern midwife and nurse. • Cape Prasonisi. The southern-most tip of Rhodes. There is a peninsular connected to the main island by a sand bar. • Castle with acropolis over Lindos • Castle of Kastellos. • Castle of Monolithos. • Epta Piges. • Filerimos Hill. About the destination: Symi, also known as Syme or Simi, is a Greek island and municipality. It is a mountainous island that includes several localities, port cities, beaches and areas of importance in history and mythology. In Symi we can find different points of interest scattered throughout the island, some of them are the monastery of the Archangel Michael Panormitis, in which monks still live; the Kastro overlooking the capital, the Clock Tower, the monument to the fallen in the war; or the Nitboy village, a beautiful town full of history. As for parties we must highlight the Symi Festival, from July to September. In this festival we will see perform in free outdoor concerts and also many dances and theatrical events.

About the destination: Kos or Cos is a Greek island, part of the Dodecanese island chain in the southeastern Aegean Sea, off the Anatolian coast of Turkey. The principal town of the island and seat of the municipality is Kos town. The island has a 14th-century fortress at the entrance to its harbour, erected in 1315 by the Knights Hospitaller, and another from the Byzantine period in Antimachia. The Ancient Agora. The ancient market place of Kos was considered one of the biggest in the ancient world. In the western side excavations led to the findings of rooms with mosaic floors which showed beastfights, a theme quite popular in Kos.
